Working voltage of automobile relay
1. Action voltage: When driving the relay with transistors and integrated circuits, pay attention to the destructive effect of the voltage drop of transistors and integrated circuits and the back EMF of relay coils on transistors and integrated circuits.
2. Coil rated voltage: after the normally open contact of the relay is closed, it is generally required to apply a voltage above the minimum operating voltage on the coil. Low holding voltage is not recommended for automotive relays, because it will weaken the product's vibration resistance and may cause misoperation when the vehicle bumps violently.
3. The maximum working voltage of the coil: In order to meet the requirements of low operating voltage (60% rated voltage), automotive relays are generally designed to have high power consumption. The voltage value applied to the coil for a long time should generally be less than 120% of the rated voltage. If 130% rated voltage or above is required, contact the relay manufacturer for technical support. Especially when it is used at high temperature, it will cause excessive temperature of the coil and accelerated aging - finally, the insulation layer of the coil will be damaged, and turn to turn short circuit will lead to failure.
4. Release voltage: the release voltage of automobile relay is generally 10% of the rated voltage. If the residual voltage on the line is too large, the relay will not release.
